Diversity ("Lottery") Immigrant Visas

Since 1987 we have had various Visa Lottery programs. Since 1991 we have had the current "DV" program. High immigration countries such as Mexico, Philippines, India, China, United Kingdom and Canada are not eligible. Historically, we have had well over 5 million applications annually for the 50,000 visas that are allotted each year. If selected, the winner must have at least a high school diploma, or equivalent education or skilled work experience and must meet all the admissibility requirements.
